NUKKAD NATAK @ MANATU VILLAGE

'Modi@20 Dreams Meet Delivery’ stretches to fathom the idea of inclusive growth and its implementation nation-wide. Based on an impeccably astounding philosophy of citizen-centric administrative approach of the phenomenal leader, Narendra Modi, the evaluation penned by some of the finest contemporary brains; including the Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, Ajit Doval, Amit Shah, Dr Barai, Nandan Nilekani, Sadhguru, Sudha Murty, Dr S. Jaishankar, P.V. Sindhu and others.

Therefore, to shed more light on the book and to unfold more of its pages, a Street Play (Nukkad Natak) had been organised by the Central University of Jharkhand on 19th of September, 2022. Two themes had been chosen for the play, those were

  1. Swwachh Bharat Sammridh Bharat
  2. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao

Dr. Shashi Singh was in charge of coordinating the entire event and the members in the organising team were Dr. Seema Mamta Minz, Dr. Subhash K. Baitha and Dr. Arpita Panda. The honourable Vice Chancellor of the University, was also the chief patron for the event. The students of the Department of Education performed the play under the guidance of Performing Arts Department and the play was performed in Manatu Village. The main message delivered by the first play i.e "Swwachh Bharat Abhiyan" was generating awareness and bringing about a behavior change regarding sanitation practices, and augmentation of capacity at the local level. Also the play aimed to sustain the open defecation free status and improve the management of solid and liquid waste, while also working to improve the lives of sanitation.

The message delivered by the second play "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" was to aware the village people on "Save the girl child and educate the girl child". The play also drew the villagers attention on the gender biases in education and hence to improve efficacy of welfare services for girls. The various discrimination faced by the girls in the society and the negative mindset of the citizens for girls was properly presented through the play by the members in front of the village habitats.Under the direction of Dr. Shashi Singh and other organising team members the event was successfully finished and the main objective of spreading awareness among local people.
